It\u2019s easy to believe that a few dollars here and there won\u2019t change anything \u2014 that in the grand scheme of things, something as simple as giving up a latte could never have an eternal impact. Time and time again, though, God shows us that he can do amazing things with very little.<\/p>\n
Jesus promised that \u201cthe one who believes in me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.<\/em>\u201d7<\/a><\/sup> What can\u2019t<\/em> he do through you?<\/p>\n Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 8:12:<\/p>\n For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n And in 2 Corinthians 9:6-11:<\/p>\n The point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart\u2014not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. As it is written:<\/p>\n He distributed freely; Now the one who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will also provide and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n God just needs our willingness. He can take care of the rest!<\/p>\n Just one dollar is enough for an entire day of life-saving food, shelter, and care for an orphaned and abandoned child in Lusaka, Zambia.8<\/a><\/sup> It can protect a family in crisis from hunger or child separation.9<\/a><\/sup> It can make sure a child living in poverty gets to go to school.10<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n Just a dollar!<\/p>\n What would you be willing to give up to have an extra $10 for this kind of impact?<\/p>\n As we begin more and more to choose the joy<\/a>, we find new ways to free up more funds that God can use in amazing ways. Over the course of a few weeks, a month, a year, those really start to add up and lead us into opportunities like these:<\/p>\n When Jesus asked the little boy if he would give up his lunch to feed all those people, the boy must have wondered how in the world five loaves and two fish could make any difference at all. He was willing though, and the results were amazing.<\/p>\n Are you willing to give up your<\/em> lunch to see what God can do with it? Choose the joy!<\/a><\/p>\n
